HGV Medical Assessment

We provide HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) medical assessments for drivers who need to apply for or renew their Group 2 license with the DVLA.

This assessment involves a full medical examination carried out by one of our GPs, following the DVLA guidelines. We will review your medical history, check your eyesight, blood pressure, and assess for any conditions that may affect your ability to drive safely. You’ll need to bring a form D4 (if not already provided by the DVLA), along with any relevant medical information, glasses or contact lenses if worn, and a list of current medications.

At the end of the appointment, we will complete the D4 form, which you can then submit to the DVLA.

Please contact reception to book an HGV medical or for more information about what to bring to your appointment.

We can carry out PoA assessments on patients registered at our practice living within Edinburgh or West Lothian including Kirkliston, Winchburgh, South Queensferry, Ratho Station, Newbridge and Abercorn.
