We have an Advance Practice Physiotherapist in the practice. You can see the APP without seeing the GP first.
You can make an appointment by contacting reception.
The APP specialises in musculoskeletal problems, and is often the best person to see if you have any of the following:
- Back and neck pain
- Shoulder, elbow, wrist, or hand pain
- Hip, knee, ankle, or foot problems
- Sports injuries
- Joint or muscle stiffness or weakness
- Nerve pain, such as sciatica.
As well as assessing your problem and offering self management advice, the APP can:
- Order x-rays
- Arrange blood tests
- Refer you to other services (such as orthopaedics, pain management, the main physiotherapy service, and rheumatology)
- Arrange medication or Fit Notes, if required
The APP is trained to identify when something is not a physiotherapy problem, and you need to see the GP. They work closely with the practice team to ensure anything that is not a physiotherapy problem is brought to the attention of a GP on the day and acted on appropriately.
Please wear appropriate clothing as your appointment will likely include a physical examination of your problem.
