Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a proven treatment for mental health problems which analyses the way you think about things and the way that these thoughts affect the way you behave. NHS Lothian has a number of online CBT services that your GP can refer you for or you can self refer to.
An NHS funded CBT platform offering the following online courses:
1. Anxiety or Depression. Please contact the practice if you would like referred. Remind us that it’s ‘Royal Edinburgh’ in sci Gateway.
2. Resilience, Stress, sleep and COVID-19. Self-refer yourself below and use the access code: Scotland2020
3. Type 1 and 2 Diabetes, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Chronic Pain, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Heart Disease, Lung Disease and an additional COVID-19 module. Please contact the practice if you would like referred.

There are numerous excellent, free apps available to help with stress, anxiety and depression. The NHS has tested many of them and compiled a recommended list.
Reading about a condition helps improve understanding, perceptions and behavioural change.
